SmartGrids Congress – Congreso Redes Inteligentes

The first edition of the Smart Grids Congress ( Primera Edición del Congreso de Redes inteligentes ) organised by FutuRed took place in Madrid on 14 December. This first edition will present 16 technical communications on innovation projects in networks and 3 round tables on the opportunities of the energy transition, new business models and international connection.

Objectives of the Smart Grids Congress

The main objectives of this congress are threefold:

  • To show the technological advances made in recent years,
  • To promote international networking, including the presentation of works developed by international entities.
  • To promote contacts between the different agents in the electricity sector.

The works presented cover these thematic lines:

  • The context of Electricity Grids: PNIEC, Climate Change, Circular Economy (reduction of ecological footprint), Sustainable Development Goals, Just Transition, Social Challenges and Resilience of the grid to climate change, Regulatory Framework (Sandboxes), Economic Recovery Plan, Regionalisation.
  • New dynamisation in the grid and new business models: Flexibility (Local Markets, Flexible Tariffs, …), Demand Aggregation, EV Integration (EV charging infrastructure, V2G), Renewable Energy Integration, Distributed Generation, Storage, Integrated Energy Systems (Micro-grids and grid interconnection), Local Communities and Positive Energy Districts.
  • Low Voltage Automation: Grid Automation, Active User, Electric Vehicle, Self-consumption, Cities, Manageable Consumption.
  • Digitalisation Technologies: Edge computing, Data Analytics, Asset Management, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Digital Twins, Mixed and Augmented Reality, Drones, Power Electronics, Energy Systems design engineering, Certification.
  • Advanced Control Equipment, Metering (2nd generation smart meters), Operation, Protection, Smart Transformer Substations, Supply Quality and Asset Management in Transmission and Distribution Grids.

Merytronic at the Smart Grids Congress

Congreso redes inteligentes

The paper presented by Merytronic, together with Pronutec and Ariadna, with the title: ‘A new model of resilient LV network for massive EV charging and Distributed Generation’, has been chosen to be presented orally, in addition to a roll-up presentation in the papers exhibition area.

Our colleague Imanol López, R&D&I Manager, had presented this interesting paper.
