Carbon Footprint Certification

Merytronic Achieves Carbon Footprint Certification in 2025

We begin the year with a significant milestone: throughout 2025, Merytronic has worked on the implementation of a carbon footprint measurement and reduction system, culminating in its certification. This process provides methodological rigor, traceability, and external verification.

Summary

  • Project launched in early 2025 with the participation of the HSEQ team.
  • Driven by the Cluster and supported by Global Factor’s Net‑Zero team.
  • Implementation during 2025 of an emissions measurement system, with third‑party verified certification.
  • Definition of actions to reduce the carbon footprint.

Carbon Footprint Project at Merytronic

A project launched in early 2025 (and shared across the entire organization). This project was initiated at the beginning of 2025 and involved the active participation of several colleagues from the HSEQ area. With the support of the Cluster and the guidance of Global Factor’s Net-Zero team, the objective was clear: to implement, throughout 2025, a robust carbon footprint measurement system and to define concrete reduction actions within the organization.

What is a company’s carbon footprint?

A carbon footprint is the quantification of the greenhouse gas emissions (such as CO₂) generated by a company as a result of its operations: energy consumption, procurement, transport, business travel, waste management, and other activities.

Measuring the carbon footprint enables data-driven answers to key questions:

  • Where is the greatest environmental impact concentrated?
  • Which reduction levers generate the highest impact?
  • How can we reliably monitor year-on-year improvement?

What does it mean to certify a carbon footprint?

Carbon footprint certification means that the calculation:

  • has been performed using a recognized methodology, and
  • has been verified by an independent third party, ensuring rigor and traceability.

In practice, this allows organizations to move “from intention to data”: not only measuring emissions, but demonstrating, with evidence, both the baseline and its evolution over time.

What are the benefits of certifying the carbon footprint?

Internal benefits

  • Enables the setting of clear targets and the prioritization of improvement actions.
  • Facilitates accurate monitoring of progress and the real impact of implemented measures.

Market-level benefits

  • Enhances credibility with customers and colaborators.
  • May facilitate access to tenders and supply chains that require verified environmental data.

Sustainability and power grids: consistency with what we do

At Merytronic, we develop technological solutions to optimize, monitor, and manage electricity distribution networks. This milestone reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement, also “within our own operations”, by measuring and actively managing our environmental impact.
